To make the Zari Sari shoulder bags, Joli carefully collects unique upcylced vintage brocade Banarasi silk sarees. Each bag is one of a kind.

Banarasi Brocade Sarees originate from Varanasi and are well-know for blending persian-inspired designs with India artistry. This luxurious handloom textile is a timeless heirloom cherished across generations.

Dull gold zari and black silk threads with tone on tone self designs are used in this piece. We have put an emerald green cotton lining with a small flat pocket inside, and it is finished with a fine leather black leather handle. From one Banarasi silk saree, we cut 6 to 7 shoulder bags. Each more unique than the other, at times more royal when parts of the more decorative pallu or borders are used, other times more floral and geometrical when the main body of the saree is used. It also when we combine both that these bags become real pieces of art.

These are truly timeless pieces, to be worn as a shimmering statement for an evening gala, or as a bohemian touch with a modern day attire.
