UPCYCLE Concept

All of the products created for the UPCYCLE CONCEPT are manufactured from waste materials that are repurposed into unique, handcrafted textiles for bags and pouches. We use various fabric and plastic wastes, such as rejected print runs from the packaging or cosmetics industries, discarded labels, failed fabric developments, and more. We also use waste textiles from factories in India and overseas that are cut into strips and handwoven or braided into new textiles.
A modest foundation in North Delhi, one of our key partners in this concept, established a fantastic facility and workshop to provide chances for persons with disabilities to make a living. Madhumita Puri has assisted numerous individuals in discovering their purpose, being creative, and providing for their families through this employment program. Madhunita's organization is a place for everyone, whether they are physically challenged, such as those who are visually or hearing impaired, or intellectually challenged, such as those who have autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, or both. We are thrilled to collaborate with them and Madhumita to create our Metallic clutches and hand-weave lovely fabrics using recycled or upcycled plastic materials.
Another side of our UPCYCLE CONCEPT based products, is the gathering and collections of different fabrics wastes. We occasionally purchase these from Panipat, where a large number of used clothing items and fabric wastes from the USA or Europe are shipped to be sorted and shredded in order to produce new materials, such as new yarns combined with cotton yarn to make blankets for the regional Indian markets. Additionally, we source intriguing fabric leftovers from local markets throughout India, such as handwoven floor mats made from factory fabric wastes. Because of their striking colour combinations and textures, these are individually all "coups de Coeur” for us. We use them to create our unique Chindi products.

EXPLORE THE CONCEPTS

We refer to the "concept" as the primary source of inspiration used in the creation of each bag or pouch.
Therefore, each collection falls under one of the three concept ideas below. A lot of them overlap!

Handloom Concept

This concept is about items made solely from handwoven textiles sourced and made all over India. From collected Dhurrie rugs to rustic handloom blankets or towels as well as stunning Ikats, we put together simple and practical bags for your everyday life.

LOCALOVE CONCEPT

This idea revolves around pieces made with fabrics & materials Lili found at India’s numerous amazing local bazaar markets. Lili disassembles and then reassembles these commonplace Indian soft furnishings into quirky fashion accessories. Slowly, she gives them a new refreshing life and purpose, sharing her passion of everyday India with you.
